IMO welcomes entry into force of financial security for seafarers

With the recent creation of the Small Vessels engineering certificate has come a great deal of confusion for those pursuing their dream superyacht crew job. The new course exists concurrently with the existing Y4, Y3, Y2, and Y1 qualifications. Yachting engineers – both new and experienced – are unsure whether continuing down the yachting path is a safe bet or whether converting to the Small Vessels route is the way to go. Surely, it stands to reason that the decision is an easy one – one should begin with the newest qualification?
